Emma Chong Ai Chzer is a fine art practitioner, printmaker, and illustrator based in Singapore.

Infused with meticulous detail, Emma’s works speak through a poetic visual language. In both her teaching and artistic practice, flowers, plants, and nature are approached as living presences, symbols, and metaphors, drawing inspiration from folklore and literature through a feminist lens. Each piece tells a unique story — at times weaving narratives of strangers, and at others revealing fragments of her own experiences.

Emma brings her artistic visions to life across diverse surfaces and mediums, including graphite, watercolour, acrylic, oil, and printmaking processes, and more recently, through performative bodily movements in response to sound. Beneath the surface of symbols and metaphors, her practice and research centre on the body and embodiment, while extending into questions around social forms of art-making and arts education.

Alongside her fine art practice, Emma is an educator whose teaching is closely informed by her ongoing artistic research. She is interested in how art can create spaces for observation, dialogue, participation, and embodied forms of learning.

Studio Luna

In 2016, Emma founded Studio Luna, her creative practice, also known as @lunabyemma on Instagram. What began as a platform for custom illustration and creative commissions has evolved alongside Emma’s artistic practice, interests, and research.

Studio Luna has since taken many forms through commissions, collaborations, workshops, and creative projects with artists, brands, and cultural institutions. Emma has worked with international luxury brands and organisations including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Bulgari, Estée Lauder Companies, Cartier, Prada, Christian Louboutin Beauty, Victoria’s Secret, The Sheraton Towers Hotel, Design Intervention, the Peranakan Museum, and the Singapore Art Museum.

Today, Studio Luna serves as a platform for sharing Emma’s past and ongoing projects, creative experiences shaped by her teaching philosophy and practice, and her continuing explorations in visual art, research, and arts education.

Emma holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts, First Class Honours, from Goldsmiths, University of London, through LASALLE College of the Arts, where she received the Academic Excellence Award in 2026. She was also selected to represent Singapore at the ASEAN–India Artists’ Camp in 2025.

From 2023 to 2026, Emma has participated in and curated multiple exhibitions, extending her engagement with the arts beyond her individual studio practice. She currently balances her time between teaching, fine art practice, research, and selected commissions.
